CG Art Sites

On my virtual travels I have stumbled upon all sorts of CG imagery, some good, some not so good. The following sites display some of the most spectacular and original computer generated art I have found on the internet. Many of these sites contain artwork by artists that have been an inspiration to me over the years and continue to be so today. Digital Blasphemy Digital Blasphemy, alias Ryan Bliss can be described as one of the pioneers of CG art. Using many of the same tools used by PlasmaDesign, his work is truly original. In fact it was after viewing his work that I decided to take up computer art as a hobby.	Mike Bonnell MikeBonnell.com is one of the most established and respected sources of quality desktop wallpaper to be found on the internet. Founded in 1997, the site has grown and grown, and now displays over 400 superb images. In my opinion Mike Bonnell is arguably one of the best and probably most prolific CG artist on the web. YOU MUST VISIT THIS SITE!
Yann Arthus-Bertrand I first came across the photography of Yann Arthus-Bertrand in my local bookstore where I discovered his beautiful collection of images called 'Earth From Above'. I often find that images that initially appeal to me become boring fast. However, I find I never tire the photo's found on his web site. You will also find several desktop wallpapers and lots of info on the man himself. A fascinating web site! .	Cognitive Distortion f you want a particular style of wallpaper, no matter what it is, you will find it at Mike Fifields' Cognitive Distortion. Ranging from superb digital art through to high-quality photography through to bizarre fractals, and covering an astonishing range of subjects, Cognitive Distortion is THE premier desktop wallpaper site on the net!
Martin Brunker Much of the software used by digital artists is down right expensive. However, one application is absolutely free and its called 'Terragen'. And of all the Terragen artists my favorite is Martin Brunker. Martin creates intensely atmospheric and desolate landscapes which make people like me wonder whether we needed to spend thousands of dollars on commercial software! Truly beautiful!	Shifted Reality Featuring the computer generated images of Juergen Eilts, this site is a must for anyone who appreciates the art of creating breathtaking CG landscapes. Juergen uses many of the same tools as myself but with every new image he publishes, he forces me to ask 'how the f@*! did he achieve that?'.
The Art Of Greg Martin Greg Martin is the king of space panoramas. I don't know Greg personally but I would put money on the fact that he is a perfectionist! Every single image is meticulously conceived and realized. Even Greg's web site is perfection. If space is your thing you will not find a better source of desktop wallpaper anywhere. High quality posters are also available.	Bougal.com Digital Blasphemy.com has another competitor! Bougal.com is owned by digital artist, Kyle Nervik and is fast becoming one of the leading sources of high quality, digitally-created desktop wallpaper. Here you will find many stylish and imaginative pieces in resolutions up to 1600x1200 pixels.
